I spent a few hours watching the X-files with my husband (we have a Netflix plan and are catching up on all the old shows) and knitting last night. It makes for a pretty relaxing time. And after two hours, here’s what I have to show for it:
Very little. Lots of very small stitches on very small needles. Yes, that is a small 50g ball of sport weight yarn on a floor with 2 inch slats. Can you see the size 1 bamboo needles? Knitting with toothpicks is an accurate description. :)So, after a bit I moved onto Nate’s socks. On size 2 needles.
Again, very small stiches. But, this is going much faster and I am about 2 inches from the toe decrease. I love the tweedy colors, though, and the Trekking XXL yarn is nice to knit with.
I didn’t take a picture, but I just completed and sent out the Airy Scarf (from Last-Minute Knitted Gifts by Joelle Hoverson) for my Mom. The book says it should take 4 hours. I think it took about 3 with finishing. I used Lion Brand Microspun in French Vanilla and size 11 needles, so it was a quick project and a nice change from the teeny tinies. Though Lion Brand is not always hailed as great yarn, I do like the Microspun and their Wool-Ease products. Easy, inexpensive and washable. Great combinations when you have kids!!!
