That’s how I feel about time right now. Seems like every time I sit down to make a post (or do most anything anymore) hours have flown by and there’s just not time to do it all. So, today I am going to take a few minutes and just talk about what’s been going on.
Back in May we went to a family wedding. It was beautiful, and very nice to see everyone, especially since we don’t get to see my parents often. Many cousins came into town from around the country that I haven’t seen in 5-10 years (See? It’s that time thing again.). I hope to be able to see them more often (now that we’re atleast an hour or so closer). I also have a few pictures from May to share…
And here’s K’s first haircut. She didn’t get much taken off, but it’s a cute bob now. Easy to take care of. She’s just so blonde! It’s almost turning white from the sun this summer.
We’ve spent alot of time just trying to have fun this summer. This section is picture heavy- bear with me!
In order… swimming in a friend’s pool. They love it- as long as the water is warm… Then there is our trip to Chuck-E-Cheese with our local MOPS group (SAHM’s- go find a MOPS chapter- It’s the best support group I’ve found!). Again, lots of fun, after getting used to the chaos of the place. And finally, our church camping trip. Both kids liked hiding in the tall grass, swinging on the old wooden swing and hanging around the camp fire. Sleeping was a bit of a challenge, since we have not done an overnight in the camper without a pack-n-play, but it was well worth it!
Now to July. It’s only been a week, but we’ve packed in alot. First, we’ve been doing alot of produce freezing- strawberries, cherries- whatever we can get our hands on. But Nate has gone one step further, and has started making our own soda (mmm- cherry vanilla), beer (English Pale Ale), bagels (see picture below- so tasty!), and will be trying crackers. We have lots of plans on how to eat more natural and local, especially over the winter, and how to decrease our footprint on the earth. I’ll talk
more on that in another post.
We spent last weekend down near Philadelphia, visiting Longwood Gardens. It was a beautiful weekend, with lots of inspirational things to see and dream about. Here’s some of my favorite flower shots (and some cute kid pix, too).
Again, picture heavy. Sorry dial-up customers…
Eventually we would love to have a cottage garden in our back yard. There’s just so many beautiful flowers out there.
And finally we enjoyed the July 4th holiday picnicing with family and friends and watching the local parade.
I’ll try to be better about posting more regularly now. Gotta keep up the pace!
