So, what are all these pictures? Well, some project spectrum work, of course! Except for the last picture, which is my first angora yarn. Not brown, orange or purple, but it might be someday! I’m pretty proud of my little skein. It’s not easy spinning that short, fine fur.
Anyway, left to right, here’s what I’ve been working on. First, a completed Trekking XXL sock in fall colors. I’ve started the second, but haven’t gotten very far yet. Then there is my faux entralac sock in leftovers from the baby sweater (not pictured on the blog yet). I actually finished that sock last night. It’s very warm, so I think I may have to wait on the second until the air is below 80 degrees. Next is the first sheep wool I have spun on this spindle. I think I am getting better at spinning, finally! The ball of wool in the next picture is what is being spun. It is from Spinners Hill (out of Bainbridge, NY- where I used to race canoes in high school!), bought at Sarah’s new shop. I had to stop in while in Rochester last weekend, and let me tell you, for a store that has been open for a month, it was hopping!! She had a fantastic selection of yarn and a nice fiber room. Lots of books to browse, too!
So that’s what’s up on the knitting front. Just plugging along. I’m trying to decide now if I want to reserve a pair of needles and cast on for some hospital sock knitting. I’m not sure if I’m that adventurous or will be that motivated when I’m in labor. 🙂 We’ll have to wait and see!
