My peanut has turned 3 (I’m almost 2 weeks late, but better late than never!). Every year I say, “I can’t believe it, another year has gone.” And I’ll say it again next year, I’m sure. Somehow, watching M and B get bigger isn’t as much of a suprise. But, K has always seemed special, fragile, maybe. She’s always been on the small side- so small, in fact, that we had her evalutated for GI issues. Thank God there were no problems found. So, aside from her actually turning another year older, this was the first time since she was 6 mos old that her weight has actually registered on the medical growth chart at the doctor. We always figured she had some kind of gene that had skipped generations (both Nate I have had very small grandparents), but it’s so nice to my worried mama mind that she really is OK! So, yeah, this birthday is a big one for me.
I gave her the Helena sweater I finished a while back. I added a beautiful silver frog clasp to the front and she just loved it.
We made cupcakes instead of a normal cake (M’s idea), but K wanted the candy words on top, so here’s what we got.
We really did alot of things to celebrate this year. We didn’t have an actual kids party, but we all attended the dress rehearsal of JCC’s production of Peter Pan (fantastic), and then drove out to Erie on the weekend to Build-A-Bear and to have a special lunch. Gotta have the special lunch. 🙂 K loves her new “friend.”
Just a note to K: My sweet girl- I know you’re growing and changing. You have your ups and downs- moments when you want to be independent and many moments when you’d like to be just like everyone else. You have blossomed this year from being the “baby” to a big sister with much more ease than I expected and you are really becoming a wonderful little girl. You’re out of diapers (yay!) and in a big girl bed. You have your own opinions and let us all know what they are. 🙂 You are funny, crazy, beautiful and so full of life. Hope you had a wonderful birthday!
