This week I taught my first class at our local yarn shop, The Knitters Edge. I was scheduled to teach my beaded bracelet last week, but it wasn’t to be.
Luckily, the woman I have been working with is really excited to have me teach, so she scheduled my Snuggle vest for another class in November. I’ve been trying to promote it as much as possible (so any local knitters, come on out!) and stopped into the shop on Saturday. M saw that they were having a kids class and jumped right in, along with 3 other beginner knitters and 7 other girls. The poor teacher was swamped! So they asked me to help out and it was a BLAST! What a wonderful way to share the craft and waylay some of the output costs! M really enjoyed herself and has spent several hours working on a doll blanket already.
In light of the new name I might be making for myself, we decided to open up my Etsy shop again and get some new patterns published (soon!). So I put up a PDF of my Wee Owlet on Etsy and now I’ve been featured! How thrilling! I’d love to see this owl fly away from home (and am still giving the proceeds back to the church) if there are any takers out there!
Thanks to the good folks at Etsy and TKE for helping me move up in the knitting world. Baby steps lead to great things.
