I’ve made Calorimetry several times now and have really enjoyed the pattern and the way it fits! Thought I’d show you my gallery and give a few opinions.
My first project was completed with chunky wool- felting type. I believe it was Patons Naturals, but I am not finding the yarn on their site anymore. The pattern calls for worsted weight, so I wasn’t sure if it would work out, but after a few seasons of wear it still is in good condition and very cozy for winter days.
I then made a worsted weight version using Geologee- which I LOVE! The color variation brings out the pattern nicely and it is warm as well as well fitting and snuggly. I think this is my favorite of the three.
Finally, I tried to make a sport weight version using Sirdar Crofter DK in one of their new striping colorways. I used needles two sizes smaller than the worsted version as suggested in the pattern. I still got nice results, with the finished headpiece fitting both my almost 7 and 5 year olds. Very versatile!
